Many thanks for the thoughtful response! I think it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that everything has to be as “real” as possible. But “reality” is always mediated by some kind of filter, whether it’s an artist’s paints, the chemical process of film, or the digital processing of a cel phone. We all have enough reality to deal with; sometimes, it’s nice just to look at pretty pictures.
